I didn't know that New York Deli existed until I saw it on Groupon. The first time we tried to go it was a Sunday, and they were closed. The second time we tried to go, they were closed again, this time for vacation. The third time was the charm! I got the Yankee Stadium Special because I've never had knockwurst and wanted to give it a try. I'm really glad I did, the sandwich was delicious. I'll definitely stop by here again. I'd like to try the pastrami, or the reuben, or even the crab cakes, but the Yankee Stadium Special was so good that I might stick with that.

It's name says it all. Closest thing in the area to a true New York Deli. Sandwiches are delicious and incredibly well priced.

I can't necessarily say that I was impressed by what I got from New York Deli... but I also can't say that I absolutely hated what I got. You walk in, and you're like... ok... greasy spoon? greasy hole in the wall? All I know is that it's greasy... They have signs plastered on the front counter advertising name brand things they cook and sell. Like as if you taped up the Ore Ida bag from when you made those frozen french fries. Tryin' to class up the joint? When I entered there was a regular talking to one of the woman behind the counter. I was like.. oh... they have regulars... they must be doing something right and from reading the reviews before I went in- it sounds like this place does most of it's business delivery. Which.. makes A LOT of sense. OK ENOUGH! You understand their appearance is severely lacking. I was there during breakfast and decided to order a few things just in case. I know that sounds odd, let me explain. So I was headed to Bethany Beach and knew that I wasn't going to eat for a while- so I got stuff to take with me on the ride too so I wouldn't have to stop. A bacon egg and cheese croissant A Bagel with Cream Cheese And Corn Beef Hash ( ya know- easy things to eat on a long drive) Bacon egg and cheese croissant - So So Bagel with Creamcheese - Bleh...... Bleh- pre frozen bagel - and not even philidelphia cream cheese. Just serve me name brand things when it counts. Corn beef hash- definitely out of a can. Eh sorry New York Deli - I don't think I'll be back realllll soonn..

I had such rave reviews of New York Deli, until just recently. After ordering from them once a week for the past month or so, via a third-party delivery site, I was very pleased. Their food is very good and really does remind you of some tasty eats in the heart of New York. They have a great variety of sandwiches and subs, not to mention the tasty potato knishes. Unfortunately, customer service just completely blew any good report on them. I ordered a sandwich from them, which as usual took a bit of time (they're very busy). When I finally was able to look at it, they'd gotten the toppings wrong... including a key topping that made me order the sandwich in the first place. Phone tag between the delivery company and New York Deli, over the course of 45-60 minutes, with different stories from either... and all I'm being offered is "store credit on your next order". Worse, the manager "Ashley" kept going on with excuses about how this wasn't their fault, this was the best they could do, and I should be happy seeing as I got a double-meat sandwich for cheaper than I should have. So yeah, thanks to "Ashley", this Yelper is going to warn people AGAINST using New York Deli. Sure, the food is good, but that doesn't excuse horrible customer service and management that tries to pass the blame. If you've got nothing better to do, and want to deal with that sort of customer service, feel free. Otherwise, just go somewhere else.

An unpleasant meal. $25.00 total for a a roast beef sandwich, a hotdog/roast/sauerekraut sandwich, and a hair/chicken/ceasar salad. Unfortunately, I was so hungry that I consumed almost everything except the bones and hair. Utterly regretful based on the feeling in my stomach.

I used to like this place, but it's really gone downhill. Some of the sandwiches are decent, but they overdo it on the condiments (lettuce, in particular) in a pretty obvious attempt to skimp on the meat and make the sandwich look heartier than it is. I was willing to overlook this until they overcharged me $2 on a delivery (they said they had a new person working that day) and promised to take it off the bill before it hit my bank. They did not. According to several other online reviews of this place, this tip/delivery game is something they play quite frequently. Ashleigh (the owner, who posts her own positive reviews online) said that they gave the driver the extra two dollars because I didn't tip enough when the driver took two full hours to deliver my food (no phone call either). When I asked her why she promised to take the $2 off when she clearly had no intention of doing so, she proceeded to explain to me how difficult it is for their drivers to make deliveries to my workplace and advised me to tip more regardless of the delivery time. Instead of making excuses for their incredibly slow drivers, they should try hiring people who deliver with some sense of urgency. 90 minutes to two hours is too long to wait for the delivery of a single sandwich from a deli that's less than two miles away. As for the interior of the deli, it could use a good once-over with a soapy scrub brush. I won't be ordering or visiting again. It isn't worth my time or sanity to fight this two-bit "deli" for $2.

The falafel is great! Served on nice fresh tasting pita bread. I ordered in to pick up and it was ready in about 15 minutes. Mozzarella sticks were pretty standard but good. It was raining pretty hard today and the ceiling was leaking right onto the counter. From the look of the ceiling this leak has been happening for quite some time. Definitely wouldn't want to dine-in.

Ordered a Greek Salad and was sadly disappointed when the delivery man brought a huge salad with tons of lettuce, sprinkle of feta and 3 ... count them 3 olives! Not worth the $10 I paid (6.50 for salad; $2 deliver fee and $2 tip) ... NEVER AGAIN!

I ordered a Reuben that was real soggy on one side, On the plus side it had a decent amount of meat , but what I really didn't like was getting short changed. Was with a old friend I Will call FFF. Can you guess What it stands for?

HORRID!! I gave it a shot because some places that lack ambiance come up with some great food...but this is not one of them. I ordered the brisket deluxe sandwich and the fried onion on it was rotten. The fries that came with my son's chicken fingers were old, hard, and filled with oil. My husband's steak and cheese was edible but lacked flavor. This place is horrible and should not even be in business. If I could give it no stars at all, I would have, but you at least have to put one. Don't ever go here, no matter how hungry you are.

Unfortunately the name "New York Deli" is very inaccurate. My corned beef and pastrami sandwich was skimpy and the corned beef was tough. I've never had such a poor-quality sandwich in New York.

I probably order from New York Deli once a week. First, the food is great. I have had a few different things, although as vegetarian I cannot speak to the meat items. The vegetarian options are delicious and extremely well priced. The meals are big enough to make a complete meal. Delivery is amazing. For example, last night I was told to expect delivery at 6:45 (eta) and it came at 6:10... less than 30 minutes from time of order. The delivery guy is always friendly and even made sure I got my package left from the mailman in. I've only been in the restaurant itself once, and it's not necessarily the prettiest looking place- but who goes to a deli style restaurant expecting fancy seating. The place seemed clean and the staff friendly.

SO GOOD! I literally just finished eating my crab cake sandwich at work and the next thing I wanted to do was to tell yelp how awesome it was! I order delivery to work for a late lunch and it came within 30minutes. The food was hot, and not all sloppy like you might expect with some deliveries. The crab cake and fries were so extremely delicious. For the price, you can't beat it! Definitely a new-found fan.

We ordered subs for a lunch event. I got a grilled chicken sub, which came with a pickle quarter and a tiny handful of chips. The sub was incredibly bland. It consisted of a texture-less roll with an excessive amount of mayo, this was topped with one thin layer of lettuce, two tomato rings (ill explain this in a second), and two pieces of utterly flavorless "chicken". At the very least they could have added some kind of seasoning, salt would have been a great start. On to the tomato rings. These were sliced from an unripe run of the mill large size little flavor tomato. It was as if someone had scooped out the innards of the tomato in an attempt to hide something. The insides of the tomato are the best part, especially the gelatinous ambrosia that surrounds the seeds. There is never any good reason to do this, it should be a crime. The sandwich was a complete disappointment, and furthermore the 8-10 chips which were included in the Styrofoam container were soggy when I opened the box. Don't waste your time with this place.

The food is still good, but not being able to use your Groupon with Special is bogus! Why post on Groupon frequently them?

There is nothing wrong with the pastrami sandwiches at this little place. The pastrami is good with crisp cole slaw on rye bread if that is how you like it. (You can also get pastrami and cheese on rye if you like that better.) We have gone there twice so far and plan to go back. We have even used the groupon deal here. Don't let the little off the beaten track strip mall appearance put you off - go on in.

I went to this place after finding a groupon for it. It's very close to my work, so why not, right? I placed an order for pick up, arrived 15 minutes later, food was ready except for the onion rings which were just in the fryer. I paid and took some time to look around at the place. It definitely has that hole in the wall look and feel to it, but not a bad thing. It is clean and does have air conditioning. There were various other people there also getting food. The onion rings were delicious! Fresh hot out of the fryer so I had to cool them a bit before eating, but very crisp, gigantic, and full of flavor. The onion rings needed their own separate take out box. I also ordered a Bronx Club that was delicious! My only complaint about the sandwich was that it was stacked so high it was hard to fit in my mouth ^.~ But as far as sandwiches go, that's not a bad complaint hehehe. Bacon was very good! I think they actually use real bacon here which is encouraging. Give it a try!

Best sandwhiches in the area- I used LivingSocial's takeout and delivery and they were at my house with a hot sub within 1/2 hour! yum!

The best thing about this place is the huge steak fries...and that's about it.

great breakfast sandwiches (pastrami, egg on a grilled bun), but the coffee was awful (note, I am a coffee snob). Fix that and I'll have a new favorite greasy spoon breakfast spot.

Suckered in by the free sandwich when you spend $10... the best thing I can say is that it filled me up. I could have made a better corned beef sandwich. The fried zucchini were the frozen pre-made kind, but not terrible. My roommate's brisket was chewy and her mac and cheese was horribly bland and "odd".

Discovered this small dive via Groupon and have since introduced my friends to it. I usually get carry out. Food: 4 Price/Value: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 2 Food: 4 I have two go-tos: Philly cheesesteak and Maryland crab cake. These sandwiches are really simple (with lettuce, tomato, onion, and mayo), so the ingredients shine through. Orders come with some chips and a pickle. Price/Value: 4 A sandwich is ~$8.00 w/o tax, but it's a lot. Service: 4 The servers are welcoming. Atmosphere: 2 The place is kinda run-down. Tips You Should Know: Look out for Groupon deals! Would I recommend? This place is a hidden gem. People obviously don't come here for its classy decor. The food is good so come for that - I would recommend getting carry out.

Tuna salad was extremely over seasoned with salt and pepper to point it was inedible. Most disturbing thing was the MULTIPLE black hairs I found in the tuna and the potato chips. GROSS. First and last time I will buy here.

Well let me start by saying this was my very FIRST time going into this place. As you walk in, it looks like a hole in the wall type place but as u keep going to the right there is a sit-down restaurant style seating area that has a very homely feel to it very nice! I kinda had in mind what I wanted but as far as a menu it seems as if only there sandwich menu is posted above the register. There full menu is posted as u walk in on the glass window. The staff is very easy to talk to and very nice. Now for as what I ordered I got the pastrami sandwich with mustard and pickles with a side of fires. I must say this was the first time I ever ordered a pastrami sandwich and I must say it was DELICIOUS as far a the french fries they were steak cut fries that were pretty well done in the fryer which made them even more DELICIOUS with the side of ketchup given to you. Just remember this is a hole in the wall place that is a diamond in the sand. From what I can tell you this place is great the only reason why I give it four stars is that it could use a little bit more advertising and a a little remodel. But the food is A+ and I will be going back again!!! THE FOOD IS DELICIOUS AND I WILL BE COMING BACK!!!!!

The sandwiches are good. My sister and I got the crab sandwich and the new York deli sandwich. They were skimpy w the chips but whatever.... I gave them one star because 1. The bathroom was really dirty and 2. the employees are shady fucks. I left my purse in there and soon as I realized I gave them a call. It wasn't even 10 mins after I left. The cashier who took my order and gave me my change ($19) was the one who answered and told me she would hold it for me....I felt a little uneasy because she had watched me put my money in a little pocket on the side... lo and behold, soon as I walk in and get my purse I checked for my money and it was gone. I know she took it because I asked if anyone else had entered and she said no, when I informed her that my money was gone, she goes um actually I am not sure if anyone else came in. So yeah while they're sandwiches are good, make sure you have everything before you leave or they will ransack it for loose change

I decided to give this place a try on a whim, on a sick day at home from work. The best thing about this "New York Deli" were the mozzarella sticks. I shouldn't have had them, but I was craving ooey-gooey cheesy goodness...however, I got something else all together: disappointment. The sticks, they're only redeeming quality, were too overcooked. I found the macaroni and cheese so pre-made and processed (just by the look & smell) that I didn't eat it, and the knishes were good but dry. The only way I can think to describe the knishes is that the dough tasted older than the filling. The dough was thick and tough, not flakey. This was my first (and probably last) visit...unless I'm car-less and desperate for knish... However. I found a hair in my knish upon eating. I couldn't update my review yet, so I went ahead and edited it. GROSS!

The sandwich I got was a crab cake sandwich, it was soo delicious that I've been wanting to make a trip back over there. It was my first time ever and I fell in love. Only problem I have is that the bathroom wasn't clean and as a pregnant who frequently urinate, i was forced to hold my pee until I got home.
